CONFERENCE POSTPONED Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
To Whom It May Concern, In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are seeing that many events are cancelled, postponed, or moved. It is for this reason that we no longer believe it to be feasible to hold the conference at the end of November 2020. However, cancelling the conference altogether is not an option for us. The planning of the conference was well underway, with more than 300 registered participants and 10 confirmed sessions scheduled to take place over the course of two and half days. The most important networks of media stakeholders had already confirmed their attendance.
After careful deliberation among the entire conference organization, and after consultation with the CMMA2020 Conference organizing Committee, we have therefore decided to POSTPONE THE CONFERENCE to October/November 2021.
The 2nd Edition of the Conference on migration and media awareness (CMMA) will therefore be held in the month of October/November 2021, at Kampnagel International Center for Fine Arts in Hamburg. The organizers’ main concern is to guarantee the health of everyone involved and ensure a high level of attendance from stakeholders around the world.
Please bear with us as we do this and stay tuned for details. These will be posted on the CMMA2020/21 website. Despite these ongoing changes, we are committed to keep CMMA the premier conference and empowerment platform for media literacy, cultural diversity and strengthening alliances towards migrants’ & refugees’ rights and solidarity.
The conference organizers invite all partners to continue their engagement with this event and will work towards ensuring the same programme with an even greater level of participation in 2021.
Our best wishes go out to all of you. We hope you stay safe and healthy and we are looking forward to seeing you next year. Thank you for your patience.
